Direct-Apply Epoxy Line Striping

Direct-Apply Epoxy Line Striping

Direct-apply epoxy line striping involves applying epoxy paint directly to the floor without mechanical concrete preparation. This approach is commonly used when surface prep isn’t possible due to operational limitations.

In situations where customers cannot prepare the concrete, Mr. Warehouse Services utilizes specialized application methods that protect the integrity of the floor while still delivering effective results.

Prior to installation, warehouse floors should be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, and debris. Mr. Warehouse Services inspects every surface before beginning work and will recommend additional cleaning if necessary.

When possible, our installation teams can address minor surface concerns on-site by sweeping the area or using a solvent-based cleaner to ensure proper adhesion.

Initial Preparation

Customers are expected to complete the primary cleaning of the floor prior to Mr. Warehouse Services arriving to begin epoxy striping installation.

However, Mr. Warehouse Services also offers professional floor scrubbing and general facility cleaning services to help prepare surfaces for maintenance projects and improve overall facility appearance. Our team has extensive experience cleaning warehouse and distribution center floors, removing dirt, dust, tire marks, oils, and other contaminants that can affect floor performance and visibility. These services can be provided as a standalone solution or incorporated into larger flooring and striping projects. Customers interested in floor scrubbing or general cleaning services are encouraged to discuss their requirements with their technical sales associate during the consultation process so the most appropriate cleaning program can be recommended.

Application Stage

Application Stage

Once the surface is properly prepared, our installation teams apply epoxy paint directly to the concrete using controlled spray systems, rollers, or a combination of both. We utilize precise layout and marking techniques to deliver clean, accurate lines that align with each customer’s specifications.

Epoxy paint provides reliable durability for most warehouse environments. While our preparation methods are thorough, this application does not offer the same longevity as shot-blasted or embedded floor marking systems.

Compared to floor tapes, painted markings typically last longer and bond effectively to concrete surfaces—often matching or exceeding the performance of adhesives. However, because the coating is thinner, it may be more vulnerable to heavy impact over time.

To further extend the life of your epoxy striping, additional protective options such as clear-coat applications are available.

Project-Managed Installations

Our project management team collaborates closely with each customer to understand operational workflows and space requirements throughout the installation process.

We prioritize efficient progress while minimizing disruption to daily operations. When timelines vary from the original schedule, we keep customers informed so they can make timely decisions and adjustments.

Every project is carefully planned using detailed site drawings and floor marking layouts, giving customers a clear preview of the finished result before work begins.

All installations are performed by fully trained and insured professionals with specialized expertise in warehouse epoxy floor marking. Our knowledge of materials, equipment, and application techniques ensures precise, long-lasting results tailored to each customer's specific requirements. Upon completion, we conduct a thorough final walkthrough with the customer to review the work, verify satisfaction, and ensure all expectations have been met.

Concrete Preparation

This level of preparation is designed to prevent material handling equipment from damaging the edges of epoxy striping. Traditional paints and tapes sit on the surface, allowing forklift traffic to strike the edge and ride up over the line. The pressure and shear forces created are too great for surface-applied materials to withstand, which is why they often wear out or fail. By embedding the striping below the surface, forklifts pass over the line smoothly without applying damaging shear force.

Embedded floor striping is the most durable warehouse striping solution available. While it requires more time and a higher upfront investment than other methods, it delivers long-term value. Once installed, it eliminates the need for frequent recoating—whether monthly or annually—resulting in significant savings on maintenance over time.

Because of the initial cost, we recommend this solution for high-traffic areas where durability and performance matter most, providing a cost-effective, long-lasting installation.

Installation Planning and Pre-Work

We ask all customers to thoroughly clean their warehouse or distribution center floors prior to our arrival for striping installation. Embedded floor striping requires the use of masking tape, so surfaces must be clean and free of dust, debris, and contaminants to ensure proper adhesion.

Mr. Warehouse Services works closely with customers throughout the planning process, recognizing that downtime directly impacts operations. We provide flexible scheduling options that align with your workflow, helping minimize disruptions while ensuring our installation teams complete the project efficiently and on time.

Joint Fill and Polyurea

Joint Fill and Polyurea

Concrete joint filling is an important part of warehouse floor maintenance, helping to protect floor joints from damage caused by forklift traffic, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Mr. Warehouse Services utilizes high-performance polyurea joint fillers specifically designed for industrial environments. Polyurea materials offer excellent flexibility and durability, allowing them to absorb joint movement while providing the support needed to protect joint edges from chipping and deterioration. After installation, the filler is carefully shaved flush with the floor surface to create a smooth transition that reduces impact on equipment wheels and improves overall floor performance. The rapid-curing properties of polyurea also allow facilities to return areas to service quickly, minimizing operational disruption while extending the life of the concrete floor.
